Yup!

I've had a set of these for many years; I've got it hooked up to a very old Yamaha TX81-Z sound module and it does the biz - use a low string sound a la Taurus! (sometimes use an Oberheim module too!) I've split the pedals such that when I get to G#, its an octave lower than that same note on the E string of my bass. I've got a set of Moog Taurus pedals but sadly they are in dire need of a service - the Roland is much more reliable etc.

moog are reissuing the taurus pedals with 1000 being made.[/quote]

Best thing to do would be to contact Roland UK and see where your nearest stockist is. I heard about the new Taurus pedals at the start of this year - looked into getting some but have let it slip! Be easier to get my old ones fixed!

Allo!

I'm by no means a synth expert but something like a Novation Bass Station or a Waldorf Pulse might be good - my old Yamaha is perfectly adequate but its not really anywhere near a fat Taurus sound. Failing that, look out for a sampler etc and see if you can get someone to lend you their set of Moog pedals.

Cheers

Any of the analogue modelling synths should get you close to the sound of the Taurus.

I particularly like the original Nord Lead, which lets you stack all the oscillators onto a single note for a massively fat sound, plus most of the parameters have their own control, knob so there's no scrolling through menus trying to set up the sounds. There's one on eBay right now for a fraction of what they cost new.
