LukeFRC Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 4 years ago as i was starting to learn bass i saved up my money and went to buy my first wee practice amp. Given the choice between the Ashdown perfect 10 and the Vox T-25 i went for the vox. It's fantastic. The tone is so warm and thick. But at 25 watts it is a little underpowered for any serious giggage. Well anyway i have a 2x12 cab with a 2unit slot at the top waiting to have an amp put in it. what would people recommend to to get that warmth of tone. I've played plenty of other stuff and the only thing that came close was a old fender all valve bassman head. Is there a lighter and smaller alternative? Quote
Soulfinger Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Sansamp + poweramp? The Sansamp does a pretty good Bassman impersonation IMHO, don´t know how close it will get to your Vox. Also bear in mind that a 2x12" will sound different than a single 10". Quote
LukeFRC Posted September 28, 2007 Author Posted September 28, 2007 that was one of the lines i was thinking down. Quote
deksawyer Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Try an Eden Nemesis NA650, or its little brother..........very nice. D. Quote
The Funk Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Plug out of the headphone output into a 2U power amp (to go into your 2x12 cab). It might look funny but then again it might sound exactly how you want it to sound. Quote
