petergales
I bought an ESP J800 jazz bass copy, new, back in 1992. It is a beatiful bass being 2 pieces of book-matched ash finished with a honey coloured clear finish, matching Fender-shaped headstock, bound 21 fret rosewood finger board, gold ESP hardware, ESP pick ups and black pickguard. Made in Japan. It weighs in at a very heavy 13lbs but the sustain is fantastic. I have asked ESP for information but they can't (or won't) give me any details. It was mentioned - with a picture - in the 1992 edition of "What Bass" with a RRP of £765. Pictures attached. Anyone know anything about it? I've ended up with 7 so I'm having to sell some of them. Sad to say this could be one of them. P
