macp Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I notice when I get to play with my bro that after a while I really start to loosen up and I get more sort of adventurous and imaginative.Im buzzin after a jam with him.I was told that playing with others is an excellent way to improve your playing but unfortunately I dont get to jam with my brother very often and wondered if there was anybody else in the Cheshire area or a group who get together to play. I am a novice player by the way. Quote
Happy Jack Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 It's true that nothing improves your playing like jamming with other musicians but if you're learning bass then you'd be much better off finding a guitarist, or best of all a guitarist AND a drummer, than asking other bass players. burno70 Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Why not start up / join a band of similar novice types? I'd imagine that's how most of us progressed. Quote
agoulding Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 id think about muso finder. found a few musicians in my area on there. http://www.musofinder.co.uk/ Quote
bassd57 Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 (edited) I just completed a search on this site and found a decent number of bass players. I assume the same would be the case for other instruments though I'm sure it depends on your location.
