Bass_In_Yer_Face Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 In order to perfect my timing I practice with a metronome. However this is a but dull so I've downloaded a few drumloops from the net and practice keeping in time with those but they are ususally drum machines. Does anybody know a resource of live drum loops or anything to practice along with. Quote
Dood Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Mebbe we could have some made up here on BW and added to the Wiki. Anyone fancy doing that? Maybe a description with BPM / feel / time changes etc could be included? (like a crib sheet, for example) Quote
slaphappygarry Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 If its something specific you are after i culd easily programme it Or, get garage band (for mac) and get wired into the apple loops. They are great for what they are. G Quote
funkysimon Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 For the past few years I've been using Hammerhead to program loops: http://www.threechords.com/hammerhead/ I'd grab some extra acoustic sample banks to get a more realistic kick drum (unless you're big into electronic music), but other than that it's all good. Oh, it's aimed at dance music, so it's all 4/4. (though obviously you can work around that if you want to). Quote
kingofthestuntmen Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 (edited) Acidplanet.com gives you a free version of Acid (Acid Express) - http://www.acidplanet.com/tools/?p=acid&T=9184 - and every week they give you '8 Packs'. These are collections of loops from their Pro Collections. If you have the patience to go thru the back catalog, you can pick up lots of (very) varied percussion & drum loops. Let us know how you get on, eh? Edited September 26, 2007 by kingofthestuntmen Quote
Rumple Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I use Steinberg's Groove Agent, it's kinda like a software drum machine with real drum samples and lots of built in patterns each variable in tempo, complexity, feel etc. great for practicing to. R. Quote

Bass_In_Yer_Face Posted September 28, 2007 Author Posted September 28, 2007 I just ordered a cd from The Bay which has four hundred loops from a 'Session Drummer' for under £10 so that will do for me Tommy. Quote
