Hi guys, bit of advice needed, pretty please.
I have a Geddy Lee with bad ass 11. Action is very low, but it's starting with the fret buzz.
For years I have just taken my basses to the local wizz setter upperer, but I cant really afford to now.

So, what I am thinking (allegedly!) is if I gently screw back the saddles, this will lift the action a touch, and eliminate the fret buzz. Can't be that simple can it? What horrors am I not accounting for? Please bear in mind I am as intellectually and technical gifted as a demised goldfish.

Any help/advice gratefully recieved.
Cheers,
Karl.

If it hasn't buzzed before now with the action set low I'd adjust the neck relief before touching the bridge.
Have you changed string gauge recently?
Don't try & adjust the action with the screws at the back of the bridge, you'll bugger up your intonation.

Thanks guys, major cock up avoided then.
Off to Band Q tomorrow then, for adjusting thingys.
Better book the A and E appointment now.
Cheers,
Karl.

Adjust the bridge saddles in small increments, i'e' put the allen key in and turn it just a quarter of a turn on each screw, then retune the strings and play.

Keep repeating the adjustment until you get where you want to be. :)

Sorted guys, many thanks for your help.
You are gentlemen of the highest water (that's a compliment).

Now, I suggest you all hide for when I come across the neck problems Geddy basses have!

Again, many thanks,
Karl.
