LeftyJ Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Gigbag like no other, more case than bag but still very lightweight and comfortable. Expensive too, but really a great bag. Quote
rasher80 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 The GigSkinz range carried by Bass Direct seems to be a decent bridge between the upper end Mono bag, which looks ace but pricey at £130, and your deluxe Warwick bags, which retail around £40. As soon as i get paid i'm getting one sorted out for my new Precision. They look kinda cool as well - and Mark's a sound guy to deal with! Quote
largo Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 I've got a Warwick Premium Gig Bag (as new) that someone can have for £20 inc P&P. Sits in a cupboard as I only ever use a hard case. Quote
alanbass1 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 (edited) I picked up a Mono gig bag from Bass Direct and it really is better protection than other gigbag/case I own with the exception of my Anvil flightcase. http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp.../MONO_Bags.html Expensive, yes, but so are my basses! Musicman20 Posted October 9, 2009 Author Posted October 9, 2009 Will a Mono fit a Lakland Joe Osborn 5 (35 scale) ? If so, then it will fit all of my basses. Quote

Thats not to say they will fit everything but they are slightly shorter than some 35" basses. Quote

Not exactly sure which model it is, but it was the most expensive one in the guitar shop, with the most padding and a little velcro strap inside it to secure the neck. +1 for Ritter!
yes..get the super padded one...they do various grades Quote

While its a very nice bag the padding behind the body creeks as if it was made of bubble wrap. Quite embarrassing when walking along a quiet street. Quote
GreeneKing Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 The Mono's fit my Spector 35" scale 5ers with room to spare. Quote

Count Bassy Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009
Its become obvious to me that sometimes I dont need the hardcases I have. Certain gigs require the entire band in one large car with amp heads, guitars/bass and basic drums.
I'd have thought this situation was exactly when you would want a hard case rather than a soft case. I'm in the same situation and it's nice to know that nothing will get damaged if the load shifts, e.g. a heavy combo decides to topple on top of the bass. Quote
OutToPlayJazz Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 I've always preferred hard cases as well, for as well as the protection offered, your bass always comes back out of the case in tune, just as you left it. I do have one very good gigbag. It's almost semi rigid & only £25-30 retail usually. Made by Boston. Problem is, my hardcases are big. The new Fender cases are very protective, but large! Quote
