This is not a forum where we take advantage of people for lack of knowledge, clearly from him withdrawing it you've offered him bugger all for the pedal I'd say about £40 knowing how you've dealt with me in the past.
wtf is that supposed to mean?
Ste,

Now I really don't get what your post was on about. You say you can get hold of one of these pedals, mint condition, for £60-70. The pedal for sale was tatty and missing parts. You reckoned Kev offered £40 (or so you said...). Why is that not a fair price? Why butt in at all?
sorry to triple post, but +1

i mean wtf? iv reported to a moderator, but like thats gunna do anything

No what I said was I can get a mint one when ever I want for about 60-70 due to pedal collector friends I have that are willing to do me deals and ship me things anywhere in the world for free, that doesn't make this one any less valuable on ebay.

I would gladly pay £100 for this, wouldn't pay much more than that at the moment as its not something I would have other than collection purposes but I'd also say it's worth more than that on the open market so I wouldn't have expected him to sell it to me at that price.

The main point of this Kev is this place is supposed to be a community, I've met many a great people one here who I regularly speak to and have jam sessions with, I've had people collect bass cabs for me from the other end of the country as favours. I've sent people little bits and bobs for free etc etc clearly Dodge did not know what the thing is worth and by what the thing is worth I mean how much they are selling for used and not the figure you've decided its worth because that's all you've got.

Now a general thing that most sellers on here do is say "I've seen this going for £120 on ebay I'll do it to a BC'er for £110 or £100" thats the spirit of a community.

People are welcome to lowball away and when you know something is worth something then that's fine. But that's not what's happened here, you know damn well how much these pedals are worth second hand and you also know that the condition of the paint makes next to no difference on the vintage EHX stuff hell most people are dubious if it doesn't looked fecked over. True you aren't buying it to make a profit but that's this week, say you get it and don't like it and then go to sell it will you have a BIN price on ebay of £75? I highly doubt that.

Something similar happened to Paul_C or Arrowhead here he had a Bass Whammy for sale and he wanted £80 for it and we told him to go stick it on ebay as he'd get more for it I think he ended up with £400 or something and again this is the point we are a COMMUNITY not a bunch of arseholes trying to do each other over every chance we get.

unlike some, yes i would sell it back for no more than i bought it for, i take it from that comment that you, like toasted, like to rip people off when it suits you.

fact: the pedal, and the sound it produces, is not worth over £75, that is what i was prepared to pay for it.

the fact is your up your own arse on this forum, and you make sure you let everyone else know it. yes you know alot about effects and so on, im not disputing that, but your just so hostile to people who challenge your knowledge, hence why you and joe have had a grudge against me since i joined the forum.

you scuppered a perfectly fair and good deal

Kev, this simply isn't true, and I'm not going to let you get away with it.

£50 for your Unibass was a good and fair price - 2/3rds of the selling price of a new one - IIRC, you actually rejected my offer.

I've never ripped anyone off on a deal, and I've given alot away free to the community - most recently a Jazz pickup cover to Ped.

Cheers.

Joe.

of course i rejected the offer, as it was less than what i paid for it

its irrelevant anyways, judging by the dates of posting and the messages, its clear that you were going to buy the unibass off me for £50 and sell it for double that elsewere. il leave people to judge you apropriatly for that.

you should have pm'd me, we agreed this thread was going to be left to die

let it die

If its genuine, could be a bargain

About the price I'd expect

Another

Over-priced for its condition

Tatty, but this one I think may be the pick of the bunch in terms of 'mojo'

Point being, these are not "super-rare", nor should they cost in excess of £50-£60 if you know what you're doing. If there's 5 for sale that are easy to pick up, there'll be many more lurking out there.
Back to the original point of this thread, I'd say £75 would be a fair price, but I wouldn't sell! Kev, do some serious ebay hunting, Australia and France are good for weird pedals.

OK, I'm fed up with this. Look, if you people want to discuss if a price is good or not and get hostile, do it away from the forum.

Frankly I no longer care who is at fault. I'm closing this thread. The seller is welcome to advertise his sales as is anyone else but I don't think this behaviour is acceptable.
