benebass
Hi - just bought a great Squier Classic Vibe Jazz from the forum, but I'm thinking of changing the stock scratchplate. I'm not sure whether a standard spare will fit - looks like it will, but I was wondering if anyone has done this & has any advice on a good one to go for please? Also, I'm thinking I might like to have a '70s-style thumb rest above the strings (had a Fender years ago that was nicked & I loved it). I've found a few '70s scratchplates online with pre-cut holes, but not sure if everything will line up on the Squier, as it's derived from a '62 Jazz. Can anyone help please? Cheers, B. gafbass02
I think the geddy lee plates fit. You can find em on eBay or at basspartsresource
neepheid
You can always fill and redrill. I've done this for a few Squier bodies now to "convert" them to a standard hole pattern. Of course that means the stock one won't fit any more. Up to you!

benebass
Hi - thanks for the help. Decided to take a punt on a cheap plate off eBay over the weekend, so will see how that goes. Gone off the idea of the thumbrest - after trying it blutacked on for about five minutes yesterday I realised that it might be a bad move... Cheers, B.
