GreeneKing
I'm settling into playing 5 strings to an extent that I didn't think possible and certainly hasn't happened before, despite trying over the years My Warmoth value circa £500. It's a Corina bodied 54P with a stunning birdseye maple neck, Darkstar pickup and an ACG02 pre-amp, currently strung with Pyramid Golds. Finished with tung oil on the body and Tru-oil on the neck. Here's some photos (The pretty one isn't for sale): Edited January 18, 2010 by GreeneKing

OutToPlayJazz
A certain Harlot 5-string may become available, but a 62RI would have to enter the equation, too
GreeneKing
The Warmoth is a 1954 Warmoth P body in Korina with a 21 fret 34" scale Birdseye maple neck. The detailing is very good on this neck. The pickup is a Hammon Engineering Darkstar routed into the P pickup position. I built the bas from parts about 2 years ago. The neck is a Warmoth Jazz profile and has reinforcing rods giving a very stable but not ultra thin neck. http://www.warmoth.com/Bass/P-Bass/54pbass.aspx http://www.warmoth.com/Bass/Necks/StandardNecks.aspx http://www.hammoneng.com/ Bridge is a Gotoh 201 and the tuners are Hipshot Ultralites with a D-tuner. The body is an oiled finish (tung) and is now waxed monthly with Warwick wax. The Neck is finished with the hard drying Tru-Oil gun stock oil. The pre-amp is filter based with one low pass and one high pass filter. The knobs are vol/lp/hp and the low pass has a resonant peak control with a boost on the high pass. Intuitive once you get a feel for how they work. http://www.acguitars.co.uk/News/91/ I'm looking for £500 or thereabouts. cocco
that sounds good man, what kind of a tone does it have? ive never heard the pickup and am struggling to imagine it. Is it low or high output?
GreeneKing
It's got a very wide frequency spectrum (Alex will be along in a minute to use correct terminology). It does 'old school really well and with flats can delivery a real 'thump'. The beauty of the ACG pre-amp is it's versatility and this bass can do dub through to 'tinkle' all with it's flats being active the bass is firmly in the middle of an active output I'd suggest. Nothing too lively. So tonally most varied.
Rayman
I've had my hands on anumber of Marcus Miller Jazzes over the years, and Peter's is up there with the best of them. Lovely bass, and the Sado adds some amazing tonal possibilities, much nicer than the stock pre.

GreeneKing
A deal with the MM has been struck for a bass originating from my home town, well the nearest of any size and the oldest recorded town in Britain. I'm hoping us Essex boys will get on. If anyone is interested in the Warmoth give me a shout. Welcome to visit and try it out over a cuppa. GreeneKing
Well the filter pre has a low pass filter with a resonance knob just like the MoogerFooger. It also has a high pass filter. Thanks for the offer, two great pedals but not ones I'm needing. Peter
