whimsy23
So I know there's a lot of very knowledgable people on here and with me being fairly new to bass playing in a serious way, I was hoping for some help. I have a few requirements... - Not too heavy. At the moment I play a Peavey Jazz bass and it's a bit too cumbersome for my liking. - Maple neck/frets - Low strings needs to be easily accessible around the 12-14 frets, not cramped like on a Fender J/P bass (I have big, clumsy hands) - Want a sound Fender Jazz/Stringray kind of sound. Am I asking for too much here? As I said, I'm new to this game, tell me if I'm being unreasonable! My price range is quite flexible but I'd like to spend less than £600 if possible. bubinga5
Whimsey, there is nothing unreasonable about what your asking for... what about a Lakland 44-01..this bass seems to match your criterea..the deluxe model with the quilted top is nice... i think this is the best bass available in this price range....I bought my Lakland 55-01 equipped with nordstrand pickups for £550.00 from a player on here.... whimsy23
That looks very nice and sounds excellent... almost the perfect amount of punch I'm looking for. Shame the dealer is a couple of hours away! I hadn't heard of Lakland before, so you've now added to my dilemna!

whimsy23
Cool, thanks for that. I'm not in a hurry to get a new bass, so I'll keep my eye out for those whilst I'm hunting!
