web cam programs

Hey, Ive got a webcam but the stupid progam that came with it makes 2 min videos into 4-5gig.

For uploading vids on youtube whats the best thing to use?

the 4-5 gig versions (not great quality either) mess up when I upload them, turn into 8 secs of music and 3 mins of video condenced into 8 secs.
tried the youtube online click and go route and the video freezes all the time.

Can someone help?
