Chris2112 Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 A rough price would be very attractice too...
David Nimrod Posted October 16, 2009 Author Posted October 16, 2009 Bought from this Forum in Nov. 2007. Includes Ibanez MB100C hard case... Has gold Schaller strap locks fitted. Volume pot replaced (it was crackly). Nice inlays and it plays beautifully ;-) EMG 'J' and 'P' pickups (but you knew that!). Here's some (fairly crummy) pictures:- £335 + post at cost or collect from Nottingham.
David Nimrod Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009
Nice..... Buy it quick someone.
This would certainly suit a bassist wanting a 'modern' sound... I'm a bit too old fashioned to get on with it really... Lovely thin thru neck though... plays really fast ;-) I won't eBay this, if no one on here wants it I'll just put it in the loft!
Chris2112 Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 (edited) So tempted by this, I've been looking for something to make into a good, epoxied fretless...this is a huge amount of bass for the money! I never got to try this model but I tried the previous DW models and they were excellent. However, are these soapbar cases with P+J coils inside? Edited October 17, 2009 by Chris2112
David Nimrod Posted October 18, 2009 Author Posted October 18, 2009 Here's some info on the pickups from the EMG site:- The 35P4 design has two offset coils that result in more low end with brilliant highs. It uses short, squat coils that have very little resistance and plenty of inductance and ceramic magnets are used to add clarity. The 35P4 has a natural presence, powerful lows, punchy midrange, and superior definition. The 35J model uses our J model single coil design encased in our 35 extended series housing. This model has a solid low end and a prominent midrange. Featuring a very low ratio of resistance to inductance that increases the low frequency response, the 35J still maintains the narrow aperture for that typical Jazz Bass tone.
