At, say, half the price shown here I'd have hit the BiN button already. But £2700 for a bass which has been professional restored to its original Olympic White color (body + headstock refinished in nitro), original finish remained in cavities. Most parts are original, except frets, pots and some screws. Chrome covers + thumbrest are newer Fender parts seems way too high to me. Am I completely out of touch with the market, or is the vendor having a punt? Edited October 18, 2009 by Happy Jack Quote
Kev Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 i am no fender expert by any means, but im sure many would agree with me if i say £2700 is at least a grand too much... Quote
Bassassin Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 A refinished bass with some original parts? I don't know a great deal about vintage Fender values but that seems absurdly optimistic. Bloody good luck to him. Jon. Quote
Stingray5 Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 It does seem a mite high-priced. Here's an all-original '72 Jazz at Guitar Avenue priced at £2995. Quote
bassatnight Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Way too much, for me if your going to pay £2k plus you want ALL original. Quote

No, I thought the re-fin'd Jazz was way over the top on price. Dang! She sure is purdy, though. Quote
Beedster Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Substantially overpriced. Buy an MIJ '75 reissue at around £750, you'll save yourself a couple of grand and likely have a better instrument Quote
Happy Jack Posted November 8, 2009 Author Posted November 8, 2009 Back again, but this time at £2250. Getting there ... Quote
