rapscallion
The pre-amp on my Corvette $$ is only working on the passive channel, I've swapped batteries but no good. Does anyone have any advice or similar problems? Thanks guys
7string
Try having a look at the input jack to see if it's switching the active circuit on.
warwickhunt
IIRC the $$ is one of the few Warwick basses that is truly passive if the batteries die, so the bass will still operate if the active circuit is defunct. However, it would be unusual for the preamp to fry for no reason (have you been trying to do any mods on it?), I'd be more inclined to think that there might be a wire loose or a dry solder joint somewhere. Look for any solder points that look different to the rest; i.e. a very shiny joint if the rest are dull, then resolder that point. If you aren't too confident with soldering/DIY work, then it shouldn't be a huge job for a tech to fault-find the problem.
rapscallion
Have done no mods to it, but I'll have a look see tomorrow. I'm not too bothered about diy, I just see all those wires
lemmywinks
Also check the push/pull volume pot. Mine failed a while ago although i had different symptoms. It was the last thing i suspected and quite an easy fix
