3V17C
Loving the look of the unlined fretless maple boards on those Precisions - I want! Friend of mine recently got a 50th anniversary lined fretless P (i've not seen a lined P before) - played and sounded fantastic - much nicer than my fretless jazz. c
Davo-London
It's up for sale at Kings Road shop for £1000. But I will take less if it goes to a good home. We can start the auction at £800. Davo

Marky L
David J from Bauhaus has been a fretless P player for a very long time. He does get quite a funsome range of tones and fruity sounds from it. Some great distorted/fuzz stuff too.
Davo-London
I now hear that someone has put a deposit down on the bass at the Kings Road store and so apparently I'm not allowed to sell it twice. So I should hear in a week if the other guy is interested in buying it. Sorry for the confusion. It has been with them for over 6 months, so I presumed it was not selling. Davo-London
Usually we break off into a bedate on the pros and cons of lined versus unlined. I have basses with lined and unlined. I think the lined is easier to play and if recording really helps keeping intonation spot on. There's no right answer. Peace Davo
Deep Thought
I saw a black/black/maple 70's fretless P in Manson's in Exeter a couple of years ago. Looked fabulous, but they wanted big money for it.
philw
Percy Jones played a fretless P Bass in Brand X before he became so strongly identified with Wal. The early Brand X albums are all fretless P and the bass sound is utterly gorgeous. P

It has a tobacco sunburst body and maple neck. It is very nearly perfect nick. Any decent offer considered. Davo[/quote] OH MY GOD! That neck is to die for. WonderHorse
I've found a BEAUTIFUL fretless for sale. Unfortunately it's currently way out of my price range. I've asked family to just give me money for christmas. See what I can save up and where I stand in January if it's still available. Donations to the WonderHorse fretless fund are welcome
