basskit_case
I keep looking at the KP3 (I think I have GAS for it) and trying to work out if I can think of enough uses for it to warrant a purchase. I am thinking that I can squeeze the following functionality out of it: Looper, Drum Machine, effects unit. Anybody think it is worth a purchase? Thanks
crez5150
Intriguing aren't they.... I'm looking into a 'Bellamy-esque' bass build at the moment with kaos installed..... I'll keep you posted
cheddatom
It looks fun. You'd probably need to blend some clean tone back in, and you need a DI or something to get your bass to line level before you plug it in. crez - if you're serious there is a guy on the muse messageboard who's username is "gazlang" who sells a MIDI controller and touch screen to build into your guitar/bass. Apparently creating the MIDI controller circuit is pretty difficult.
Silent Fly
The Korg Kaoss Pad KP3 is a very cool device. The only problem is that is has been designed to operate with fingers. AFAIK it is possible to control the X-Y coordinates with a MIDI CC messages but I am not 100% sure.
cheddatom
yeh, with the controller i'm on about above, you plug your controller into the KP with a MIDI cable.
Wud
Kaoss Pads are a lot of fun indeed, very cool performance toys. The build quality of the KP3 is a marked improvement on the old models from what I'm told.
