teaser360 Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 anybody got thoughts on a peavey tmax head, quality, performance, and second hand prices??? Quote
Leftbass Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 I had one. Good quality made in the US not China. Wide range of tone available and loads of power. Built to last. Classic Peavey. I still look at them when they pop up on Ebay and think why did I sell mine. GAS I suspect Quote
Rich Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 For my money, possibly the best bass head Peavey made. Quote
Wil Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 The bassist in my band uses one. Solid, lots of tone shaping options, good power to money ratio Weighs more than my all valve marshall head though! Must be lead lined... Quote
Mr. Foxen Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 (edited) They run for a surprisingly long time on a 0.5 ohm load, before they trip. Ig you disconnect the trip and bridge it, it runs for a surprisingly long time before the power transformer melts. They are built tough. Edited October 21, 2009 by Mr. Foxen Quote
umcoo Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Great amp. Mine sold on ebay for about 140 a couple of years ago. Good beefy amp! Quote

cheddatom Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Nice!! Yeh that's good. I was going to buy one a couple of years ago off here for £200. Quote

alexclaber Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Bargain bargain bargain! Damned good amp. I had the smaller s/s only version, the Sessionbass, liked it very much. Couldn't afford the T-Max sadly... Alex Quote
doctorbass Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Excellent amp - wish i still had mine. They're loud as hell! Quote
longtimefred Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 the Sessionbass amp was my first proper amp, and i loved it. Eq on it was really easy to dial in i remember. i remember i thought i had made it as a proper bassist when i bought my first rig, it was that and a 1 x 15" black widow cab. I was the muts nuts! haha. Good times. Quote

They are no longer supported it seems, can't get a new transformer. When I phoned the dude who owns it, he ca';t talk long because he is busy conducting his orchestra. Some people are far from up on the technical side of things. Quote
