Dom in Dorset Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Stumbled on this while doing vital research on Derek smalls: http://www.lakland.com/the-decade.htm I love the look of the body shape , TBirdesque , but not actually that much like a TBird when you look closer. Only in America as far as I can tell, about $2000 mark. about £1200 Dear Father Christmas... Quote
ase_one23 Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 wow, never seen that before, it's awesome! the one captioned "Eric Halborg, Swayback" in particular is seriously nice. Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 There is a 30" short scale version available as well which would have been right up my street had it been about a quarter of the asking price. Quote
retroman Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 There was a review on those recently in one of the bass mags I have to admit, I think they look ace! But I am swayed by retro looking gear They are available in either passive, or active. Quote
Rayman Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 I think they're great, I saw Amy Winehouse's bass player using one recently. Quote
Low End Bee Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Looks very nice. I'll have a black single pickup one with a mirrored scratcplate for under £600 please. Well when they do one I will. Quote
Clarky Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 (edited) Essential Tension (aka Dave) has one of these - you can see a pic of it in the SE Bass Bash photo thread (its the one of his rig comprised a Mesa Walkabout, this bass and his drool-some Tony Franklin fretless) http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=623614 Edited October 21, 2009 by Clarky Quote

I've heard Dan Lakin describe it as a Gibson EB3 lower bout and a Fender Bass VI upper bout. The Skyline finish - translucent burgundy, black pickguard, blocks and binding, black headstock - was designed for a Gibsonesque retro feel by a small group of seven (including me) in the last days of the Dudepit.
