Maxcat Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 HI all. A quick question for you. Up until now, I have used a tone bone Bassbone to input my bass and Eub. With the new band I use 2 basses and the upright. Whats the best solution. One option is to use another true bypass AB box into channel 1 of the bassbone with the 2 basses, and plug the EUB straight into channel 2. Is this overkill or is there a simpler solution. (Ill save you "just use one bass") Any other ideas. And if its an AB box any recommendations? I was looking at the Radial Big Shot as it would be nice to be able to adjust the input volumes, but I dont need a tuner out or a mute switch Cheers Don Quote
gnasher1993 Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Look for a buffered mixer. Have a look at the wounded paw one. He does custom work so will probably do you a 3 channel if you won't use the extra channel. Quote

SteveO Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Have you thought of DIY? One of these with break before make contacts. You can get them 6, 4 or 3 way with at least 2 poles - i.e. can be used to make a selector with 6, 4 or 3 inputs. 2 poles means that you won't need to share the ground wire between basses which will avoid any interference problenm. a knob a box. As many sockets as you need. some wire to join them all up Total cost about a tenner. Quote

Just bought a Radial Bigshot A/B box which is fantastic (solid as a rock and great quality) but essentially need to get the two basses into the A/B box as well as a Double bass (mic and pickup blend going through a Radial PZ-Pre preamp pedal) into one amp. So far the way I get around it is by using an ART Powermix 4 channel passive mixer. http://www.dv247.com/studio-equipment/art-...-1-mixer--28239 I go from the A/B box into one channel of the mixer and take a line out of the PZ preamp into the mixer and take all that into the amp. Best I can do so far! The Lehle 3at1 pedal looks fantastic though. Thomann sell them for about £170. Steve Edited October 27, 2009 by funkmunky Quote
Maxcat Posted October 28, 2009 Author Posted October 28, 2009 Some good. adice/ideas guys. Cos I still want the functions of the bassbone I think I'll try the bigshot into it. Might have to lose a pedal to fit it on tho. Thanx again. I'll let you know how it goes Quote
Maxcat Posted November 6, 2009 Author Posted November 6, 2009 All sorted. Got me a Morley A/B for £15 http://www.morleypedals.com/daby.jpg so Im just going to put both basses into that with the output to Ch1 Bassbone and plug the Stagg into Ch 2. All I have to do now is learn to tapdance and Ill be sweet. Quote
Stylon Pilson Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Those Lehle pedals look utterly gorgeous. I wish I had a need for one. S.P. Quote
