thodrik Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 For me its going to have to be a MIA Fender Jazz bass. I've been playing bass for 12 years now and have never owned any type of jazz bass. I've wanted one for ages but lack of funds have prevented me. I blame tuition fees! Quote
Linus27 Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009
Here're a couple of others on my radar at the moment...
Anything special about that Stingray. Apart from the scratchplate, mine looks identical. Quote
Doctor J Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 The bass of the moment is a Wal MkII. Never really thought too much about them during the lull over the last few years, but, now that they're available again, I've got to say I'm rather tempted to go for it. Quote
jim_bass Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 I'd got it figured. I knew I wanted a jazz. I knew I couldn't afford an America standard. I was going to buy a Squire Classic Vibe jazz..... ....BUT.... I went into a music store in lincoln yesterday and played a Fender America Standard Precision. It was lovely. Now I'm all confused. I want a Precision and a Jazz! and I tried the Squire CV Precision and it just didn't match up to the Fender. Back to square one. Quote
basshead56 Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Would love to get my hands on any of these: An Old Gretsch bass, A 62 RI Precision, Fiesta Red or Oly White, 76-78 Fender Precision Black maple neck. Same as above but in OLY white, Fender Jag in HR Red, Dean Stylist Cabbie Gibson RD Artist, Black or Sunburst, Gibson Victory Atrist, Red Warwick Chrome Tone Warwick Vampyre-dont care which one! Any decent Ricenfaker Quote
lee650 Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 (edited) For me the "bass of the moment" has to be the retro musicman stingray in sea foam green, im quite taken with it, justlovely i will have one one day!!! im also very interested in the dingwalls featured in Bass guitar magazine with the fanned frets (the cocobolo one in bass direct is especially nice) and my current GAS list includes a Marcus Miller jazz and a fretless NT warwick thumb 5- never bloody happy PS im still loving my new Ken smith too!!! AndyTravis Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 The USA Vintage 75 Reissue Jazz Bass Factory Special Run in Lake Placid Blue with matching headstock I have just bought from a basschatter in Italy. Photos as of Monday or Tuesday. Other than that, search 'my two p's' thread, they are both my badboys of choice. Quote
ped Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 I think I have only ever played one OW bass and that was a long time ago... actually no I played a 36" fretless recently... lovely craftsmanship. ped Quote

Sibob Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 My bass of the moment is still my 2003 US Jazz! Sounds cheesy, but it literally blows me away each gig! Si Quote
alembic1989 Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 This is the bass I want at the moment....but the 6 string version.. http://www.lightwave-systems.com/products/...bass_guitar.php that and a schack carbonite 5 or 6...with a 35" scale Quote
BigRedX Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 That Lightwave Space Bass (for me it would be fretless 5-string) is the only bass I'm GAS-ing for at the moment. It's my favourite Tune Bass shape plus lightwave electronics - what's not to like? I'll have to sell my Sabre A 4-string first though. Quote
sshorepunk Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 My Sei and Pedulla are doing the job for me right now, could squeeze another 5 string Jazz in there though, maybe sea foam green or Sonic blue, Nordy fat stacks, maybe an audere pre. From the likes of shuker or sei! T Quote
ahpook Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 at the moment it's the warwick double buck i bought from project c. lovely player - the neck's a bit larger than i' used to, but it seems to improve my hand position. pics to come. Quote
Cat Burrito Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Just got my dream 1978 Fender Precision so I have to show it Quote
xgsjx Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Now that's a clever idea, just a shame westone was a sh!te make from the 80's. Quote
