BassAgent
I want to have some new pickups for my Blade B2 Tetra Jazz: It's a great bass already, but I am still a bit unsatisfied about the sound. I've replaced the preamp already (it's equipped with an Aguilar OBP-1) and now it's time for the pickups. I'm looking for the really good stuff. A vintage tone with enough punch and width, I'll do the rest with the preamp. I've thought of a couple of options: Nordstrand NJ4 + Good stories - Really expensive Fender Custom Shop 60's + They sound great in my Fender fretless Jazz and they're cheap - Don't know how they'll sound in a fretted bass Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups + Noiseless - Don't know the sound Lindy Fralin + My favourite Dutch luthier loves them, they sound great in my Celinder - Expensive Am I missing something, do you guys have other/better options? gary mac
Hi mate. Love the look of your jazz. I put a set of wizard 64's in my Vintage modified jazz and think it was a first class upgrade. Even get compliments on the sound from guitarists! Can't comment on any other makes I'm afraid, as this has been the only bass so far that I've tinkered with. But I wouldn't hesitate to use them again on future projects. seventy quid (or thereabout) well spent. All the best, Gary
