Musky Posted October 27, 2009 Share Posted October 27, 2009 I think the point about SPL is that plenty of speakers can only handle about 25% of the rated power in the lows before they run out of excursion. ezbass Posted October 27, 2009 Share Posted October 27, 2009 I just use a single Schroeder 1212L (4 ohm) cab now with my LMII rather than the 2 Ashdown ABM 2x10s I previously had. Getting good tone at low SPL is easy - keeping that good tone at high SPL is a different matter. For me, tone comes first, then SPL, then size/weight.
