jonsparrow91 Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 I'm sorely tempted by this, a proper Warwick without the annoying two piece bridge that I can't replace. I'm just unsure about the pine though, I'll do a bit of research and see how they sound. Are any other basses made from the same stuff?

I personaly wouldn't be put off by the body wood at this asking price - especially with that neck! A good buy for someone I reckon.
phil.i.stein Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 looks like a bargain, any idea of date of manufacture ?
mikeh Posted December 29, 2009 Author Posted December 29, 2009
It basically is the parts you get on the Rockbasses with a genuine German Warwick neck. I used to have one of these and whilst i preferred my Corvette (active) the necks on these are great, the build quality is also top-notch as it's made in the same factory as all the other Warwicks Carolena is also called Kodiak Pine i think, here's a thread about it: http://forum.warwick.de/17-warwick-rockbas...od-wind-up.html It also says it's called Carolina Pine I found it quite light. Another advantage of these Streamer Standards is that the control cavity is big (standard Warwick size IIRC) so it can accomodate a pre-amp and battery easily if you choose to make it active. If i'd have kept mine i'd have put a pre-amp and pickup in there, there's usually something cheap in the for sale section on here so it needn't cost the earth
What he said definately MUCH better than the Rockbasses. Corolena body, Ovangkol neck with a wenge FB Im sorry, have no idea on year of manufacture Mike
jonsparrow91 Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Cheers for the reply but I don't think this is what I'm after. At the moment I have a Jazz V and an ATK, I only need one of them so I'm getting rid of the ATK. It seems like this bass would be just a sideways step. Thanks anyway and enjoy the free bump. If this is still hanging around in a while maybe I'll rethink Good luck with the sale!
lemmywinks Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 The year of manufacture should be attainable from the serial number. It should start with a letter and end with 2 numbers, these denote the month and year A serial that starts with a B and ends with 99 would be made in February 1999, one that starts with a D and ends with 02 would be made in April 2002 etc. You can do a quick check on the Warwick website: http://www.warwickbass.com/modules/support...22701&cl=EN
mikeh Posted December 29, 2009 Author Posted December 29, 2009 Cheers for that, in that case its a January 2001.
mikeh Posted January 23, 2010 Author Posted January 23, 2010 Pre ebay bump. Listing tomorrow, it will be a tad more on ebay to cover fees.
mikeh Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MESELX:IT
Annoying Twit Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 I know that my Rockbass Streamer Std isn't worth too much, but this is really putting price pressure on from above if the real German streamer is going for £200.
mikeh Posted January 31, 2010 Author Posted January 31, 2010 Not sold!!! I guess its going in its gig bag in the loft.
Annoying Twit Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 It might be worth relisting it without this:
Postage would be at the buyers risk as I dont have a hardcase to ship in
mikeh Posted February 14, 2010 Author Posted February 14, 2010 May as well give this a little nudge, still available.
waynepunkdude Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 How the hell is this still here, seriously.
ThomBassmonkey Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Can't believe this is on here at this price. If this were a 5 string I'd have your arm off for it.
mikeh Posted February 14, 2010 Author Posted February 14, 2010 I havent got a clue how this hasnt sold for the price its on for, but at least Im patient!!
