wateroftyne
Ok.. I know Bakithi and his playing on this tune is old news, but have many of you heard the alt. version of it on the Graceland re-issue? It's just vocals, and Bakithi grooving away... lovely. And it's not on YouTube that I can see. Sorry.

51m0n
Spotify by default is entirely free. You have to put up with the occasional ad. Or you can spend 9.99 a month to not have ads. The ads arent as intrusive as FM radio IMO, and that makes it a win for me!
thisnameistaken
Hahaha, you can really hear how bonkers his part is on this.

stonecoldbass
Amazing! Thanks for this! Gracelands is one of my all time fave albums, Bakithis playing is sublime and it's great to hear it exposed like this. Mmmmmm! craig

BottomEndian
Yes. Yes. Yes. That's just awesome. And it's nice to know that it's obviously not just bassists who think that Bakithi absolutely makes this track.

AndyTravis
it's on my playlist! I love his playing on this album, and he's such a top bloke, judging from interviews. I love his playing on the graceland in africa concert, he makes a top fretless break on 'boy in the bubble' and doubles up the slap end to 'you can call me al' cool as. He's in my top five bassists. alexclaber
I've never heard anyone since Jaco with such a unique voice on fretless bass. I leant this album to a friend years ago, maybe I should buy the reissue... Or would anyone like to invite me to Spotify? Alex

Gareth Hughes
Has anyone heard this version?: http://djearworm.com/in-the-sky-with-diamonds.htm It's about three tunes down the list. I heard this in a cafe in Germany earlier this year and couldn't believe just how well it worked. Check out some of his other tunes - quality stuff, especially since the artists are giving him the multi-tracks to work with. All good. Rayman
I must buy Gracelands, I really must.......the album that is......not the house.
Chris2112
I have always loved that version of the tune. The first version of Gracelands I had was the re-isssue. I prefer the original version, bit it is simply without a doubt my favourite fretless bass line of all time!

I also pay the £9.99 a month - not only is it ad-free but you get better quality as well, though it's pretty good at the free level.
thisnameistaken
I thought they'd finished with the invite-only thing? I've got 10 invites if anyone needs one.
OldGit
Wow brilliant How do I find out if I have Spotify invites to give out? Do you have be a paid up card holding member of the Spotify party for that?
