V4lve
Hi. Have acquired a A4 sheet of sticky copper shielding for my OLP MM3. Am thinking I might be able to cover the bottom of the cavity with one piece but wondering how best to create a template. Anyone got any suggestions? 7string
No need for a template. Just cut a piece roughly the same size and stick it to the bottom of the cavity. Any excess can be cut off or smoothed up the sides. Also, remember to shield the underside of the cavity cover. Also run a tab of copper so that the cavity screws go though it and then in the holes. V4lve
So now I am worrying about the electronics shorting out against the shielding. There is not a lot of space in there and the Artec circuit boards are bare and vertical. The contacts on the main one are near the bottom of the cavity. I dont think anything is shorting as it seems to work just fine but I would feel a little more comfortable if they were insulated somehow. It there anything I can use to cover the contacts on the board You can see the Artec here Ta
BOD2
Don't cover the contacts on the board - cover the shielding foil where the contacts are likely to touch. Stick some insulating tape on top of the shielding foil to prevent any contact - it won't affect the shielding in any way.
