It's no longer in Aria's current model list, I remember looking at the SB reissues 5 or 6 years ago, because I always wanted an original Aria Pro SB when I was too young & poor to afford one! I'd guess that's about when yours originates from, if you bought it new then it was probably old stock. Jon.
OutToPlayJazz
Wait for doctor_of_the_bass to spot this one. He has quite a few Arias in his mahoosive collection
Moos3h
It's an Aries, originally comes from the West Midlands, although its father was a Liverpool dockworker who relocated due to long term illness. It enjoys long walks in the park and warm sunny days and if it were president would make all vet bills free of charge. Its plans for the future include travel and the ultimate dream of opening a Michelin-starred restaurant with Raymond Blanc in rural Oxfordshire. Even though the neck is abit of a pain for me having only owned a 4-string Jazz before it, the satin finish on the neck makes it nice to play. My new TecAmp combo has totally transformed it IMO, it was abit too dull and the attack was abit slow for my likings (basically it was a typical fretless!), but the TecAmp has really livened it up
Leftbass
I got one from the same place £140. IGB40. I think its a real bargain. Good build nice neck and good tone although would benefit from better pickups. Lefties Rule! Edited October 31, 2009 by Leftbass
Lew-Bass
Haha, nice one mate How would you describe the neck on it? I find it quite difficult to play tbh, only because it's so wide for me. But maybe I just need super-slim necks and it isn't actually that wide.. Leftbass
I've had 5 strings before its just a matter of adapting to the extra width. Unless you have short sausages then maybe 5 s aren't for you. Mines a 4 str fretless and the fret board seems quite slick and the satin on the back increases playability. I got it just to indulge a whim for fretless but I am considering using it live at some point. Good luck with yours
