Cat Burrito
I quite like it actually but I agree not for an original 63 bass. Or even a Fender! Reminds me of a Japanese copy
Moos3h
I'd be more worried about that crack in the neck....ouch. Can't see anyone going for that at the asking.
Happy Jack
Saw that last night and thought, Yup, that's a factory quality pro sunburst re-fin if ever I saw one. Not. I reckon he must have got hold of a job-lot of black and was trying to use it up quickly. Good excuse to go to Las Vegas, mind.
CHRISDABASS
That has to be the worst sunburst ive ever seen!! Just awful!! Im getting to the point where i just dont get the whole vintage bass thing!!
kevbass
The front I quite like, its almost like the paint has aged from sunlight exposure and gives it an old look but the back is not that great for a bass costing that much.
Golchen
"It has been expertly refinished with a factory quality pro sunburst " I'm no expert on these things (to put it mildly!) but that finish just looks ..... wrong.
skankdelvar
Looks like someone sprayed the red over the black. Horrible as a re-fin, but quite nice if you'd never seen the original finish on which it's supposed to be based. Montezuma-burst? Moos3h is right - that crack's a shocker. Bassassin
I wouldn't be particularly worried by a crack like that on any of my own basses - however I wouldn't be too cool about it if I was thinking of paying 3K for a vintage Fender. Likewise the interesting hide-the-ply BowelBurst refin. If it wasn't for the huge chunks of finish knocked off the edges I would think it was hiding something, rather than just being rubbish. Jon. Paul Cooke
is it me or is the nut broken on that bass?
