i haveno reason to believe it isnt what he says it is, but then again i dont know much about fenders.

One thing i do know, that looks f***ing awful, really awful, regardless of whether its 40 years old and sounds superb or not...

Its a bit OTT but I kinda like it, in the same way people like Ugly dolls

Also reminds slightly of my all-time fave bass, Martyn P Casey of the Bad Seeds' knackered old, DiMarzio'd P-bass

I've never seen a wear pattern like that - almost uniform. And round the neckplate too?

Previous owner touring it in an eagles trib band for years (?) then retiring it in 1994. All very odd.

That's what i was thinking, the wood looks days old!

The headstock looks lush though
