I'm Badassing two basses on my day off this week...

Little bit miffed.

The 2nd Badass arrived. The previous owner had cut the slots WAY too deep, the full string rests IN the saddle.

Now, it's not the guys fault, i suspect for his bass it may well have needed that level of cutting, so, the squier is unuseable with the Badass on at the moment. One of the Perils of buying used Hardware i guess.

At a further cost of $77, $50 + $27 shipping, i've ordered some Badass Saddles from www.bestbassgear.com, as Allparts are about as much use as a cock flavoured lollipop.

So, The Plan is...when the saddles arrive.

Take the Badass i bought from Oli off the FSR Jazz, and shove it on the Squier, the spacing is just right, and the slightly worn in look will suit it.
Take the other Badass, which has an 'almost new' looking backplate and use the new saddles, screws and springs, and put that onto the FSR.

Simples...

I'll take photos of the current predicament later.

GURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 :)

Eek... you should have posted something here first. I've got a 5-string set (already slotted, but not very deeply) that are going spare! If you can cancel the order, then give me a PM...

The Squier is 'playable' now, but i hate how high the saddles are...it's just my preference i suppose.

At least the extra expense is for my dream bass...

There should be a new set of photos with swapped bridges, and saddles, then i'm done.

Both basses sound better with the bridges in place anyhow...

Just a bit, i don't know what bass it was on previously...
At most, i'd have half of the string 'in' the saddle. But it seems he made the slots all the same regardless of string gauge.
I'm going to do a practice run on these before i set to work on the new ones.
Hmmmmmm....
