What IS this sound ????

Righty,

Athough having owned a POD XT PRO ( take a bow Sir Ped ) I ditched it in favour of a nice clean sound which I now have and love.

However, my band is doing some more funky stuff and I feel I'd like to add to the sound palette. Trouble is I don't know the first thing about FX, or what does what tbh.

The sound I'm after is like this.........

I'm not even going to try to describe it cause I'll probably get it wrong, and send you all off on a wild goose chase, so if you'd be good enough to have a quick listen to it and let me know I'd be grateful.

I noticed some guys using the EBS Bassiq pedal, would that do this ??

it's probably a keyboard, which doesn't really help ..

An Akai Deep Impact would do this sound easily. But they're quite expensive.

yeah it's a keyboard.

But you might be able to get a similar sound with something like a Korg G5 - if you can find one. I'm sure there's a better option though.

That's what I though too, but I imagined with all the leccy gubbins out there I might have been able to replicate on my trusty basses.

The though of playing with a "strap on" leaves me filled with dread, for reasons too numerous to mention.

The Boss SYB3 could get you quite close, but the tracking can be "challenging" sometimes.
