Musicman20
Hey guys I’m going to get a cover for my Tecamp cabinet, but this is a more general question about import duties etc. If I order from a German store, do I pay German tax? The store are saying that I do. Will the product get charged any duties on its way into the UK? The cover is already £90 with delivery….ouch! I don’t want to be paying anymore. My problem is also that if I’m spending £90, I’ll probably be annoyed if it gets badly scuffed and scraped. If it’s horrendously expensive to import, I might go with a Roqsolid cover for £40 plus free delivery. They seem to be waterproof and padded with a soft lining which seems quite good for the price. Plus, the cabinet will be looked after anyway. Has anyone had any experience with the Roqsolid covers?
skelf
Unless you are vat registered in the uk you will pay the vat in Germany. But there will be no duty or vat when it comes into the uk as it partof the eu so in the single market.

I've got 3 Roqsolid covers and they are superb. Their guarentees are excellent and no Postage and Packing. Just be aware that the prices published are exclusive of VAT, but it is still around half the price. So you are keeping it then

WalMan
Is it that much cheaper than going direct to Roqsolid?

Paul S
+1 for Roqsolid. They are very good quality for the money - I had some made for my Trace Elliot cabs, complete with green piping - and they are great.

Delberthot
Roqsolid didn't do a cover for my Trace V-type combo so I emailed the measurements, they made one up for me, it fits perfectly and now anyone with a 1x15" V-type combo can order one for themselves. I too got a black one with green piping
Marky L
+1 for Roqsolid. They tailored one up for my Ashdown Classic head some time back and it's great. Give em a shot.
yorks5stringer
Roqsolid are actually made in Batley and when I got mine there were always deals to be had: I paid a extra £1 and got a 10% discount on £45! Mine were the first MarkBass Travellers he'd made so I sent in the dimensions and they were made from those plans.
Musicman20
Update: Went with Roqsolid...the German company wanted full retail price and with delivery it was nearing £90 for a cover....which is too much considering the cab was such a good buy. Anyway, Roqsolid have put up a 7.5% discount for Xmas over the past few days....so all in all cost me £43 delivered. Black with black binding so it stays looking decent hopefully. Mike
I definitely recommend Roqsolid. Used them for two cabs and they were great. Sent the wrong one through first time but replaced it with no hassle.
Musicman20
Just got my cover....perfect fit, nice and padded inside, superb quality and great waterproof outer. Very impressed....cannot go wrong at that price. It basically looks better than some of the more expensive covers....very well cut and put together. goaround
+1 for Roqsolid, great quality, great service. I ordered 3 covers, 1 to my measurements, 2 already listed. 1 of the listed covers already listed was slightly too small but was replaced straight away without any hassle. I sent back the other cover, Bryn agreed to do refund my postage as a donation to basschat and has joined as a member.
Dubs
I've sent my measurements over but they're different to the listed TecAmp ones. How did you do yours? Mine are consistently about 1cm smaller than the listed TecAmp ones in terms of HxWxD...
goaround
I measured all dimensions to the nearest 0.5cm including the lugs on the corners, sketched a picture with all the dimensions on,as a check made sure it all added up e.g cm to handle + cm of handle + cm to handle = total depth in cm, scanned in the sketch and e-mailed it over. If you are concerned your measurements may not be correct I would double check them and make sure you have measured the maximum dimensions - to the edges of corner lugs rather than to the edges of the cabinet as that could add on 1 cm all round and end up with the cover not fitting. yorks5stringer
I had one made to measure but the holes for the handle were slightly in the wrong place: I sent it back and they made a new one at no extra charge so if you are not satisfied, just give them a ring and they should re do it. Dubs
Cheers guys. I'll order it tonight. I love my L410 but the rubbery coating is getting absolutely mullered due to gigs and carting it about 2 or 3 times a week.
