Schnozzalee
Hi Bcers, Just recently purchased a Tokai Hardpuncher in blonde w/ matching headstock, gold hardware, maple neck and a Fender USA Alcino pickup. I've never played a P before because of my hate for large necks, but this ones great and the tone is incredible. First time I've ever had to use my pinky finger playing octaves! It'll fit nicely with my new prog rock band too I'm looking to change the Pickguard from white to tortoiseshell add gold pickup cover/ashtrays and upgrade the pickup to something ultra powerful. I may consider ugrading the bridge and tuners also. I'm not sure the pickguard of the USA P bass will be the same as the tokai, also the thumb rest on the tokai has just one screw hole, how would I go about getting one made? When i decide to mount the ashtrays would that be better done by a servicing shop or should i try myself? Don't really want to crack the paint. Suggestions and advice please! Regards, Oli
Cat Burrito
Don't be shy posting pics! In terms of thumb rests, try http://www.classicguitarboxes.com/thumb_rests.php The ashtray covers are easy enough. If you aren't happy drilling into your bass, get it done professionally.
