(signal is my bass clean into my Vbass, also clean, into desk, also clean but a bit dusty)

If everything is 'clean', why are you using the Vbass?
Or are you using it as an interface/preamp?

As a preamp and interface yeah... actually thinking about it I think the bass signal has a touch of stereo reverb on it. During the recording sessions I like to have all my options at my feet, so to speak, even though most of the time I am clean as a whistle.
