OutToPlayJazz
Thanks, SC. The 5-string Jazz was a nice one. Typical of a Mex Jazz, it was a little underpowered in the pickup department, but it was a really nice bass. Really nailed the Marcus sound through my pupil's Trace rig, too. Rich. Your old Shark is one of them. It looks amazing now, btw! It's been refinished in Mitsubishi sparkling black graphite. The new owner loves it and did his Rock School grade 8 on it! There's also the Yamaha BB714BS Billy Sheehan signature, a black BB614 and a Sonic Blue CV Precision that I never got a chance to get pics of & the fretless Squier VMJ I got off Nick. I'm sure they've all gone to good homes, anyway
funkle
Hey Rich, what did you think of the Squier VMJ vs the Squier Classic Vibe 60's J? Pete

Pete[/quote] Hi Pete, the VMJ plays just as you'd expect a maple bodied jazz to play. It's very 'top endy' with not quite as much bottom end tone as you'd like, but quite a nice thing. The Classic Vibe is another thing entirely. The Vibe Jazz really has all the bases covered & nails the classic Jazz bass sound totally and completely. Haven't been there for a good 3-4 years.
