wombatboter
Yesterday, Sting was a guest in a Belgian tv-show to talk about this new album. It wasn't rehearsed but Sting went to the stage to sing "Message in a bottle" with the completely surprised house-band. Thought I'd share this with you... misrule
They weren't that surprised -- they had the music on the stands in front of them, as Sting pointed out. Good effort, though, under pressure Cheers Mark
wombatboter
They had used the chord sequence of "message in a bottle" to announce a Belgian cook ("cock" Rodman joked) earlier in the show (he wrote a book about cooking "SOS Cooking") so they only new the verse. They were surprised since the soundmix normally is a bit better and they would have known the structure better (I know the musicians too so I'm pretty sure) http://www.kookeiland.be/kookeiland.asp?fi...VD-SOS-Piet.htm
skankdelvar
Think what you like about his tree-hugging, his tantric sex and his new beard - that bloke can sing. And he's no spring chicken. Little bass-player totally made up when Sting compliments him on his rendition of the bass part. Awwww! Thanks for posting this, wombatboter! I mark him as a great influence on my playing.
