paul h
My latest acquisition, a 1996 Squier Affinity Strat. Nicely mojo'd and with that "strat" tone in buckets!
OutToPlayJazz
Speaking of which, I just traded my as-new Line 6 Spyder III 75w combo for a new VOX VT30 - Seriously rich sounding and light weight for carrying around schools and student's houses. paul h
Do you want to hear my £60 Squier Strat? Just a quick noodle....don't judge me!
Shaggy
Lovin' those Rics above.... Here's mine; early '60's Broadway semi and highly modded 1954 Gibson ES-175 (fantastically versatile - middle switch position gives middle & bridge p/ups out of phase - "chimes" even better than my old Ric 360/12), and very nice '77 Gibson Mk 35 electro-acoustic that I got in a trade with BurritoBass last year. Just got a Mesa Boogie mini-stack: '85 Mark III short head and 1x12 EV 200W Thielle cab - will get some pics up.

Not a bad shout for £60.

I think I would probably go for a couple of wiring mods first to see what happens, but new pickups would definitely be an improvement.
Wil
Can't go wrong with a bit of Beck, either! Does it hold tune alright with all the vibrato arm antics?
paul h
Pretty much as long as you don't push it too far. I'm quite into Jeff Beck at the moment. Never really listened to him before but I am really enjoying his "relaxed" approach to pitch! Of course he has scored massive brownie points with me by doing Lilac Wine on his latest album! Wil
Although I don't get on with vibrato arms, I barely use a pick at all now since listening to Beck. He's a real maverick. Shame a lot of his output is a bit, er, "jazzy", but not in a good way
paul h
Well I have only had a trem for a week so I thought I better have a go at using it! And I have just realised that you spotted it was a Beckalike! I know the name of the track helped but I am still chuffed you recognised the influence. It's the short lived Iommi sig, based on their Vienna model, essentially a genuinely huge slab of mahogany and almost as heavy as the 77 J I used to have. But the tone, the tone
7string
A mate of mine has one of the prototype Berlins which were named "Climaxe". This is before PRS asked Eggle to change the shape a little. The thing sounds great, but it's heavy. So heavy that he used to have a neoprene strap to help with the weight. An amazing guitar though

waynepunkdude
Here she is, bit of 90's British ska/punk history in this one. This has toured with the 4FT Fingers which won't mean much to a lot of people but they were awesome.
