MB1 Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 (edited) MB1. Classic albums followed by the story of Duran Duran! Edited November 18, 2009 by MB1 Quote
Spoombung Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Yeah, I saw it. And cringed all the way. Quote
Moos3h Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Really enjoyed it. Quite nice to hear the comments 'Of course, I couldn't actually play that live...' rather makes me feel better about butchering a few DD songs over the years! Quote
gary mac Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I've recently been playing the album again and really enjoying. Learning Rio and Save a Prayer for a new project. Met Simon at Cowes a couple of months back, not looking quite so chic in his sailing kit, but very approachable and friendly. Good programme. Quote
chardbass Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Wish I'd seen it. Duran Duran were a big influence on me in the mid to late 80s despite me being a rock fan. Learning to play Rio was a bit of a musical epiphany and a stepping stone to 'ghost notes' etc. Bless 'em. Quote
51m0n Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Damn, forgot just how good some of their stuff was. Thought it was a really nicely done program too, great fun hearing the bass parts and the overdubs etc. Didnt see it all, hope its on iplayer! Quote
dave_bass5 Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Makes a change from bloody Fleetwood Mac or Pink Floyd. Quote
fatback Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Nice low key programme, full of interesting snippets. Smart guys too and totally into the music. I loved the story of how the iconic pastel suits on the yacht were an accident - they thought they'd be shooting in london! fatback Quote
MB1 Posted November 18, 2009 Author Posted November 18, 2009 (edited) MB1. Yes!... Quite Cringeworthy! ....Interesting nonetheless! Mr Taylor seemed a little more down to earth without the makeup!(Duran Duran continue without him? ) Does Yasmin Le Bon Age?( shes still stunning looking!) Aria sbs/kubikis/wal/Peavey Cirrus....Toetaptastic Poppickers! Edited November 18, 2009 by MB1 Quote

Lived in Brum in the early 80's - it was against the law not to like DD Quote
MacDaddy Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 they don't sound like any Brummies I've ever heard Quote
ezbass Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Not the best Classic Album program, but when the producer is dead it's going to be tough to really say how the album was made, I really like it when they strip back the tracks and would have enjoyed more of that. Enjoyed both programs even though the DD history prog was well out of date. I love Rio as an album, some really good work by everyone in the band. Quote

Marvin Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Watched it a couple of weeks ago. I've never liked Duran Duran, but I thought it could be interesting. Afraid to say I found it thoroughly uninteresting. Hopes were dashed, so back to quietly ignoring them. Quote
