niceguyhomer
I was asked to do a dep gig on Friday night - playing 'classic rock' (yawn) at a biker's do. We rehearsed last night and it was absolutely dreadful - we were all over the place and the noise was excrutiating. We'll go down like whaleshit. Never again

You'll go down great dude.

wateroftyne
Heh. I feel your pain. Whenever things are slack, and I get a dep call, I think... yeah. Why not? 75% of the time, I regret it...

Beedster
Al, give us the address of the venue mate. I'm feeling a BC fancy dress road trip coming on
Beedster
PS I've only ever done one classic rock gig (loads of Cream, Free, & Stones, bit of Who and Zep) and I loved it, had a great time playing it and the crowd had a great time as well. Just thought I'd add that
sturm
most classic rock bands ive seen have been crap and as clarky says they'll be bladdered anyway

JTUK
it can't be that bad, they were booked by someone right..? and you are getting paid.. and you got a rehearsal..?? take a helmet and some headphones and you'll be off the stage in minutes... On a serious note, you didn't just take any old gig, did you ? you have heard of these guys before? you don't play with any old randoms that call you, do you..? I think you will have to do it and as you say, learn that lesson.
Mr.T
Hmmmm... Anyone fancy a quick game of 'Let's stereotype the Biker'?
Marvin
You'll have a great time. If you are not driving, you could get as bladdered as the crowd and you'll never remember a thing.

Maybe the gig'll be full of all the gear no idea hoorays from Barnes with matching white leathers on asking for Simply Red songs.
niceguyhomer
Bikers are the finest people on the planet - I love 'em to bits. I've done loads of biker gigs including a Satan's Slaves rally with my old soul band and as always, we were treated like royalty.

EBS_freak
I used to play at a place called MFN at their infamous biker nights. Amongst some of the most fun gigs I have ever done. Never any trouble and the audience were genuinely appreciative of the music. Just ride the wave, you never know what opportunities will come from it!
