Faithless
So, I've noticed the problem during gigs - I'm hissing quite heavily when put through PA. I thought, maybe it's in the amp - i've tried to go straight to the line, no amp, and so on, but problem remains in the bass. Only if I cut the highs all the way, it's less noticeable, but, anyway.. The thing is, what I've noticed, it may have something to do with stage lights - I've noticed, that, when I was put through PA with no stage lights, there was no hiss from me(my bass)! In both venues, that I had problem with, sound engineers swore that 'grounding' is made in those venues, but, I wouldn't believe them 100%.. My bass is active Ibanez Prestige, one from the 'quality' ones, so, I don't think it has any wiring problems, or such.. So, anyone could give me an idea, how does bass interfere with stage lights? Faith Edited November 18, 2009 by Faithless
OutToPlayJazz
Yes, it can be stage lights. I seem to suffer a lot at venues with dimmer switches on the lights. When the lights are dimmed down, I get a huge amount of 60 cycle hum at one place in particular.
Pete Academy
I had this problem at a few gigs, and I posted a recent thread about it.As your bass is active, it will accentuate the problem. Have you got a ground lift on the amp? A Boss Noise Suppressor would probably help.
Faithless
I have it (ground lift) on the amp, but it doesn't seem much help.. Could you give me the link of the thread? Edited November 18, 2009 by Faithless
