munkonthehill Posted November 18, 2009 Share Posted November 18, 2009 yo yo yo, ok chaps i have this known issue with my fender jag, the hissing,,,god how i hate the hissing. its really bad in active mode especially with the treble boost high and i noticed its kinda bad with my gain turned up on my little line6 lowdown. this all becomes quiet when i touch any part of the bass that has metal. so how oh how do i fix this???? I would recommend copper lining all the control cavities, Did this to my Jazz when I installed new pickups and it shut it right up You can get sheets of sticky back copper from Maplin I believe. Master blaster Posted November 18, 2009 Share Posted November 18, 2009 yeh i would take time shielding the cavities. when i have a jag i rushed it and it didn't completely solve the problem. would be nice for fender to have addressed that issue in the manufacturing process. rapscallion Posted November 19, 2009 Share Posted November 19, 2009 Check the ground wire under the bridge? Or there may be a seperate one int he control cavity screwed in to the carbon paint maybe?
