EssentialTension Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Congratulations, Chris, that is lovely. Quote
rjb Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Looks amazing. Sorry if I'm being dumb, but what is the significance of June 64? If it's in the thread I must have missed it! Quote

martthebass Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Chris...........if you ever even contemplate selling this I suggest you be taken outside and shot. Great bass, now where will I find a Feb 63 Jazz? Quote
Sibob Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Meh.....it's alright! I jest! Wonderful news I just got hold of an A series Jap Squier as my first foray into 'vintage' Precisions (I'm a Jazz guy you see), that alone is brilliant....so this must be truly sublime, especially with such a great life story behind it!. Sorry if it's already been mentioned, but is it the original case and appropriate candy as well? Si Quote
Deep Thought Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Stone the crows! Stunning bass, you must be like a dog with two, er, appendages. Great story, perfect ending. Quote
Beedster Posted December 8, 2009 Author Posted December 8, 2009 Guys, many many thanks for the replies. I've just wasted 20 minutes trying to reply to all in one post (i.e., quoting all), firstly falling foul of the 'too many emoticons' error message, then the 'too many quotes' error message, so I gave up. Just spent 4 hours with this baby and Stuart Clayton's Entwhistle transcriptions, and I have to say that the first few bars of 'The Real Me' sound as close to the Ox's tone as I'm ever going to get Clarky, it was insured before I left the shop mate C Quote
OldGit Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 C'mon Chris .... No pics = no bass Stop playing and snap some pictures ... I am so lucky I don't like the Precisions they made in my birth month Quote
steve-soar Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 That is a great piece of kit Chris.....is it a keeper? Quote
stinson Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Whoa, you're simply going to have to give us some sound bites of that beauty. Congrats. Quote

jakenewmanbass Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Chris I take it we can presume there is a significance to June '64, which makes you a pre CBS model too doesn't it? Well done mate... now then... if after 6 months you return to Beedster form and let this go, I think for the sake of the forum I shall simply have to exterminate you Quote
Ray Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Congratulations Chris! Beautiful bass and a fantastic story. Really pleased for you. Quote
Raggy Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 How long will you keep this one for then? I'm guessing forever Congrats Chris thats gorgeous. Quote
Sibob Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 He's gonna have to keep it forever, will take him that long to pay it off haha! Si Quote
harvey1-8 Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 I'd be far too scared to play it but it looks levely. Quote
