so my friends asked me if he can buy my jazz from me. but ive no idea what to give him as a price

ebay seems to say anything between 200-300.

it could do with a set up and is a 1998 model.

anyone think of an ideal price?

Current new retail is around 400, so anywhere between half and two thirds of that is reasonable depending on the condition. If he's a good friend, do him a mate's rate. And then he'll owe you a bit of a favour.
