spacecowboy Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Hey Dan! Welcome to the board! In my experience i have never really agreed with coated strings, i have tried Elixers and Warwick EMP's but man its like sliding around on Ice, i like the gritty feel of Steels, i have used DR Black Beauty strings and they have been the one exception i seriously liked those! even though they promised to last 4 or 5 times as long as an non coated string but they died a couple of months later like a standard set of steels! They looked ace on the bass though! Quote
Cat Burrito Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Welcome - I used a GENZ-BENZ amp at a venue the other week and was quite impressed (a real life saver as I'd blown a fuse which I couldn't replace in mine). In terms of coated strings the closest I have come is Rotosound Trubass which I really like Quote
Telebass Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 Welcome! Not tried coated strings yet. Love Rotobass 40s, they do what I need, AND they're cheap! Win-win. Quote
