deaky
Hi all Can anyone tell me if I can connect a tecamp XS110 1x10 bass cab to a Tecamp combo 112. Its has a speaker out at the back of the combo so does that mean I can connect the two together and use as a complete unit. Iam also a bit confused regarding ohms!! The manual says you are free to use either speaker output if you want to connect more than one speaker cabinet. Just make sure that the minimum load of each power amp is no less than 4 ohms. Thus you can connect two 8 ohms speakers or one 4 ohms speaker. And finally Do I have the option of connecting a Phil Jones Suitcas extension cab to the combo. Would this work or would it sound rubbish... I hope that all makes sense. Many thanks in advance
warwickhunt
Soz, was the other thread not clear enough? So are loads of people "The manual says you are free to use either speaker output if you want to connect more than one speaker cabinet. I'm fairly certain that you haven't quoted verbatim from the manual. Basically your Tecamp 112 combo will have one speakon speaker output on the rear, this can be connected to ANY 8 ohm cab NOT a 4 ohm cab (capitals used to save you an expensive experiment)! You can not connect a pair of 8 ohm cabs to the combo nor can you connect a 4 ohm cab. "Do I have the option of connecting a Phil Jones Suitcas extension cab to the combo." Yes, you can connect a PJB extension cab to the Tecamp combo... so long as it is 8 ohms. "Would this work or would it sound rubbish..." Yes it would work, as to whether it would sound any good is down to personal taste but it will increase the perceived volume and sound bigger/fuller.
