Id had the horn for a Fender for ages, i have a lovely little Musicmaster for rehearsals but just had to go out and get the real deal. Quick fact : ive never bought a new bass before, so this is all a bit new to me. Mmm. Pretty SKB case with "case candy" inside as well. Very happy.

So : here's the porn.

That is a nice bass!
Always really liked sunburst but ended up with two fenders in black. Bit like preferring blondes and ending up with a brunette.

Yeh, that's nice!
For all the wonderful basses there are around, it all still comes back to something like your sunburst P bass.
Oh dear, I can feel a GAS attack coming on, thank you very much! :)

Lovely Lovely - I bought one of these last year in New York - with the dollar so low then you'd all kill me if I told you what it cost in sterling :)

Mine is currently strung with D'Addario Chromes and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just did a week of 'The Pirates Of Penzance', with a big hunk of foam under the strings at the bridge and the tone almost fully off. Never would have thought I'd go for a sound like that but it ROCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Evening guys... thanks for all the nice comments.

OTPJ - I tried a number of Jazzes and just couldnt get on with them, even the very expensive one in V&R that some on here have taken a liking to. I prefer the P-Sound, i suppose im more of a "rawk" boy, but the fact you can get some lovely bottom end out of a P for the funky stuff also sold it. All my other basses arent exactly versatile so a P seemed the natural choice.

The sheets? No idea, missus got them from somewhere!

And DJV, you are of course welcome over for cups of tea and bass and biccies whenever ya like! lol! Although this time I wont get you fixing any amps, you can just drink tea and play! Must put some of the piccies of that evening up, some serious $$$$'s of bass gear in my house that night...

How bizarre - I was just talking to a fellow BC member here in the office (BassCat) about putting flats on it!

Ill do that after this weekend's gigs, payday tomorrow (woop)

This is true, we were talking about flats!

I had the pleasure of a quick fiddle with this at the weekend and I can confirm it is a beauty!! Although not as good as mine as it doesn't have a mirrored scratchplate. Shiny.

It's the law on sunburst P's with maple necks :)
