lozbass
Now I've recovered my composure... Maybe I'm being a bit thick here, but is this a Series I bass or a Signature Deluxe bass? Also, the electronics look like Series 1 (I think, I haven't checked) but the description alludes to 'Anniversary' electronics (I know the two are very similar but there's no dummy in the Ann basses). My apologies if I'm missing the point - it's been a very demanding week and it's only Wednesday morning. I'm still suffering from a good deal of confusion following Sunday's (bassday) shock and awe slap attack. I think I'll be spending a lot of time looking at these photos...for the hundred and fiftieth time on here...'there's nothing quite like an Alembic...' I don't remember when was the thread but if there's any inaccuracy please let me know so I'm doing my best here to spot all I could.

Got three proposal in firm with trades involved until now so we'll see what happen.
JIX
Hi All. It's a lovely looking Alembic. I thought you'd like to see the threads from the original buyer (Takeo) who ordered it - they're on the Alembic Club web-site at: http://alembic.com/club/messages/411/2140.html?1039996106 Interesting to see you have it on at such a price - I had been looking to buy this bass from a guy called Paco in Spain back at the beginning of July. He was looking to take EUR 4k for it at the time (it had been posted on eBay at the time). In the end he chose to sell it to someone local as opposed to go through the fun of shipping to the UK, I believe. You can read the whole thread from my interest up to Javier buying the bass from Paco back in July at - http://alembic.com/club/messages/394/66852.html?1247513961 It's certainly an interesting bass (and, for someone who could afford it, carrying out the upgrade to Series 2 electronics would be a great thing to do to produce a truly awesome bass - that was Takeo's original plan when he first had it built. Not cheap, though, but a series 2 is an amazing bass to have). Anyway - hope the extra info. & history on the bass helps any prospective buyers. I used to have an Alembic Mark King signature that had a quilt maple top on it, it was stunning. This one is very nice, I wish I had the dosh, I'd have bought this by now. I'm very poor, contrary to popular beliefs (I can't think why people think I'm minted, heheh) - my offer was actually a swap deal for one of my Alembic basses BUT had I got the money then I'd have it without fail as its one of the prettiest basses I've ever seen!!!! bumpe! Here's the details from the instrument file: top and back: 5A Quilted Maple accent: Purpleheart 1/8" laminate body: Mahogany neck: 7-piece Maple and Purpleheart scale: 32" medium fingerboard: Ebony inlays: mother of pearl ovals peghead: Bookmatched Crown body shape: Standard Point pickups: AXY with humcanceller (not connected) controls: "Anniversary" vol x2, filter x2, Q-switch x2, pickup selector switch, stereo/mono mode backplates: continuous wood truss rod cover: continuous wood straplocks: recessed option: Prepped for Series electronics option: string with .040-.100 option: tailpiece must be dead center birthday: October 16, 2002 originally made for: Bass NW custom order There's a note in the file with tracings of the backplates when Mary requested the complete set of 4 plates be made in brass. The work order called for a C serial number code, but it was left off in error. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
