mikek
Hi Alex, Sorry to raise this - I think I can hear you groaning even in Hong Kong! I realise that you've tried putting tolex onto your cabs before, and I'm happy enough to go for the textured paint finish, but in an ideal world I would probably choose tolex. especially with the vintagised finish. I wonder whether in an ideal world it wouldn't be a good option for some potential customers. I once tried to apply tolex to a home-made cab, with dreadful results, so I know it's a time-consuming and tricky business, but still, couldn't you find someone who's prepared to do it for you? Understandably there'd be a cost implication. Do you think it's a good idea to revisit the question and perhaps to have a poll on the issue? Cheers, Mike
alexclaber
No, it rips far too easily. Alex
Mr. Foxen
I think I spotted on the BFM forum about putting clingfilm oer the finish to give a leather type finish (guess like the Ashdown ABM ones). Could that be a possibility?
largo
I would much prefer a Tolex finish on the vintage-style cab with some piping too. I don't care if it rips and being honest, if the cab has a cover then it shouldn't really make much difference.
