I'm sure this has been discussed a zillion times but I can't seem to find anything that answers my question (that I can understand!) and I don't really understand this stuff.

I'm in the process of buying a rig and the UK-built Ashdown MAG 600 tickles my fancy - http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~A...n)~ID~11199.asp

I won't be able to afford 2 cabs straight away. Will I be able to run a single cab without destroying it if the output knob is turned down? I'm thinking of starting with an Ashdown ABM compact 210/115 or mini 115 depending on what I can hold of 2nd hand (all 300W @ 8 ohms).

Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers.

The mini 48 cab is 600w and the mini 115 is 300w (as you pointed out) see if you can treat yourself to both. I have the pair and love them. Great size but the 48 is significantly heavier :)

i have a abm 1x15 compact, its the older uk made cab and it sounds v good.would go well with the mag head, you can pick them up for around £130.Add another cab to it when funds permit.in my experience the uk made abm cabs are better than the new ones for some reason.
