Yet another great gig faces going to the wall!!

The Half Moon in Putney is being forced to quit live music as of January 31st. Apparently the brewery (Youngs) has been sold, and the people who have taken over have a history of turning pubs into restaurants. As a music lover and supporter of live music please offer your support and go to the website:

There are petitions etc being organised as we speak. The Half Moon has been a major supporter of live music for over 50 years, and deserves our support.

Thats a f***in travesty. A great live music venue being turned into a restraunt - makes me sick. As if there aren't enough restraunts as it is! London is turning into one big housing estate interspersed with restraunts that sell alcohol. Who says our culture ain't dying ?

This is terrible new. The Halfmoon is 5 minutes walk from my place and the only decent live venue in the area.

Damn, I used to live virtually next door and loved the place. It's also notorious in Beedster folklore as the site of of my only ever appearance in leather jeans. The hottest, least comfortable and most embarrassing night of my life.
